Training awards for staff at Simdmouth funeral directors

A member of staff at a local funeral directors picked up a training award at a meeting in Mid Devon.

Corinne Sycamore, of Potburys in Sidmouth, was pleased to accept her award alongside Jayne Aplin, of Hansfords in Seaton.

The pair were given their accolades at a special meeting of the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF).

It followed their completion of the Independent Funeral Directors’ College Certificate in Funeral Practice.

The certificates were presented by Alun Tucker – the national president of SAIF and Gemma O’Driscoll – tutor and assessor at SAIF.

Corinne joined Potburys in 2015 and has progressed from funeral assistant to funeral director.

Jayne, who lives in Beer, has worked at Hansfords in Seaton for nearly five years.

Peter Grassby, the director of Grassby Funeral Service, the parent company of Potburys and Hansfords, said: “We are very proud of Jayne and Corinne.”
