SIDMOUTH stars in Flybe’s latest promotional campaign.

The airline, based at Exeter Airport, chose the town’s beach to feature in its national media drive, the aim of which is to get people thinking holiday. Deckchairs, luggage tags and other everyday objects have been branded with the Flybe ‘lozenge’ logo in bright colours, stating the range of destinations the firm offers.

Director of marketing Simon Lilley, who was at the Sidmouth photo shoot, said: “We picked objects that people can relate to. For instance, when people see deckchairs, they think about holidays.”

The ads will feature in national newspapers and magazines, and one is being created for TV too. Sidmouth was selected as the closest beach to Flybe’s headquarters and to reflect its links to the South West. Mr Lilley said: “The South West is important for us, as we take people from Exeter to all over the world and within the UK. The ads are promoting all our routes, so this can mean the sun in Spain as much as a break in the Sout West.”

Natalie Dalton and Jo Daffin were cabin crew at the Sidmouth shoot. “It’s been good fun,” said Jo. “When we got the call for the beach shoot we were delighted.”
