With the final countdown to this year's Beautiful Days festival under way, the organiser has revealed the bands he is most looking forward to seeing.

The hugely popular event takes place at Escot from Friday, August 16 until Sunday 18, and tickets are completely sold out.

The festival features a wide range of music and entertainment, a fairground, stalls and - new this year - a Wild Spa with hot tubs and a sauna.

Organiser David Farrow from DMF Music said: "I'm really pleased with the whole line-up this year.

"If I had to pick a few, then Songhoy Blues, Skunk Anansie, Ziggy Marley, She Drew The Gun and This is the Kit would be ones to watch. We've got new areas on site to discover and some very exciting walkabout theatre to look out for too."

Among the main stage performers is Nick Parker and the False Alarms.

Nick said: "What I love about Beautiful Days is the friendly vibe and always excellent line-up.

"I'm looking forward to playing on such a massive stage. It's a huge honour because I thought it would take years to build up to it.

"I'm also looking forward to seeing hundreds of people that I normally see all around the country at various gigs.

"My audience can expect, hopefully, a cheerful, uplifting experience involving stars of the past, stars of the future, and a massive German lesson."

Gaz Brookfield and the Company of Thieves are another of the bands playing on the main stage.

Gaz said: "What I love most about Beautiful Days is the people. It's such a welcoming and loving place.

"Every time I get there, it feels like coming home.

"What I am most looking forward to is hanging out with my friends and family in a field.

"Ooh, and the beef rendang from that food stand in the main arena."

As well as the music and entertainment, Beautiful Days offers complementary therapies.

Among those available in the Body and Soul Healing Garden are Thai massage, Indian head massage, acupuncture, hot bamboo and shamanic healing. The festival also features craft workshops, free yoga sessions and on-site art installations.
