FUN RUN: The second Beer Blazer fun run on Sunday (May 12) will be raising money for the primary school. There are multi-terrain races for all ages over distances of 10km, 5km and a mile.

Events start at Pecorama at 10.30am, and runners can enter on the day. See the Beer Primary School website for details.

SPIRITUALITY: Spirit development classes have begun in Beer, and cover such topics as meditation, psychic art and cosmic ordering.

Sessions are on Tuesdays from 7.30pm until 9.30pm and Wednesdays from 2.30pm until 4.30pm, at a cost of £5 each. To book a place call Amanda on 07720 626373.

COFFEE MORNING: Branscombe Village Hall is hosting a coffee morning to raise money for St Winifred’s church flower funds.

It will be held from 10.30am until noon on Saturday, May 25.

CRAFT FAIR: Branscombe’s next craft fair of the summer is at the village hall on Sunday from 10am until 5pm, and there will be refreshments available.

CROCHET CLUB: Branscombe Women’s Institute is inviting ladies who can crochet to share their skills with those who want to learn how.

They will be in Branoc Hall tomorrow (Saturday) from 2pm until 4pm, and anyone with wool or a crochet hook is requested to bring it along. Older children are welcome and there will be tea and coffee available.

FESTIVAL TICKETS: Tickets for the inaugural Branscombe Festival are now on sale, giving music fans the chance to see opera, jazz and classical styles in the village. There will be performances in the village hall and the church. Acts announced so far include Carducci Quartet, Philip Higham, the Leo Green Experience and the Trelights Brass Quintet. The weekend is from July 26 to 28.
