A pair of Coastguard rescue officers attended after reports of possible pollution from an oil drum.

Beer Coastguard was called out to Jacob’s Ladder after reports of possible pollution from an oil drum.

The crew of two coastguard rescue officers arrived shortly after 6.55pm last night (Thursday, June 1) and began searching for the drum.

They were able to locate the oil drum with the help of a member of the public.

Terry Hoare, station manager of Beer Coastguard, said: “It was found to contain used engine oil, no pollution was found, and the drum was removed to a safe place and the council advised, they will remove the drum tomorrow for disposal.”
