BEER Coastguard were called out twice on Tuesday in the space of 20 minutes.

They were first tasked at 5.25pm after reports that two people, in an inflatable dinghy 600 metres off the Beer coast, were struggling against the tide.

The dinghy made it to shore safely and the coastguard gave safety advice to the pair.

Beer Coastguard were then tasked to man the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre at 5.45pm after there was a system outage. Members of the team stayed at the centre until the systems were restored.

Beer Coastguard has issued another warning to members of the public advising them to check the weather before using a dinghy and also to tell someone where they are and what time they will be back.
