BEER Cubs presented members of Seaton rotary club with a cheque for £490 on Tuesday in aid of the ShelterBox Trust.

The cubs raised the money through a fundraising day and from publicising the collection for the charity in the village.

ShelterBox provides emergency aid for victims of natural and other disasters anywhere in the world and has helped over 600,000 people since it was set up by the Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard in 2001.

The cubs collected enough money to supply one ShelterBox, which contains emergency supplies and shelter for ten people. It includes a tent, blankets, tools and cooking equipment.

Nigel Groves, cub leader, was very pleased with the amount raised and is eager to hear how it has helped people in need of aid.

He said: "Once the ShelterBox is distributed, they will let us know where in the world it has gone.

"All of the cubs are looking forward to hearing how their efforts have helped people in other parts of the world.
