The successful applicant will have responsibilities including attending meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes and advertising the group’s events around the village.

BONFIRE NIGHT: The Youth of Branscombe are holding a fireworks night behind the village hall tomorrow.

Entry is free and it starts at 6.30pm.

CLEAN UP: The annual clearing of the brook in Beer begins on Monday, November 5, and runs for a week.

It is organised by the parish council, but they are in need of volunteers to help them remove litter and weeds to aid the flow and reduce the risk of flooding.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: St Michael’s Church in Beer is holding a memorial service on Sunday, November 4.

The service will include singing hymns, reading out names and lighting candles in memory of loved ones.

KIDS CHARITY: Branscombe Primary School will start selling Pudsey wristbands in class for Children in Need on Monday, November 12.

It will also hold a bring and buy sale for the charity on Friday, November 16, at 3pm, and requests that parents look out for any toys, books, games, clothes and accessories for the stalls over the half term.

They also need cakes and sweets and are taking donations.

END OF SEASON: Attractions in Beer are closing for the winter this weekend.

Beer Quarry Caves and Pecorama both close tomorrow (Saturday) after a week of events for the half term holiday.

EPILEPSY FUNDRAISER: A pair of Hallowe’en tours at the Beer Quarry Caves raised �450.

Both were full to capacity, with around 50 children on each one.

All the proceeds will go to the Youth Epilepsy charity.

COFFEE MORNING: The Royal British Legion is selling coffee and cakes at the Mariners’ Hall in Beer on Saturday, November 10, from 10am until 12noon.

There will also be a raffle and a tombola.

LEGS ELEVEN: Beer Social Club is holding a bingo night tomorrow (Saturday), from 8pm.

They promise good prizes, a good raffle and good family fun.

APPLE PRESSING: By popular demand, the Old Bakery in Branscombe is pressing apples at its orchard on Sunday, November 2, from 2pm until 4pm.
