Beer has struck gold once again in the South West in Bloom competition.
The village also won the Cox Cup after impressing judge Brenda Wright during her visit in July. The results were announced during a ceremony at Somerset County Cricket Ground as the Herald went to press yesterday (Thursday).
Jon Wheatley, chairman of South West in Bloom said: “Beer was a wonderful entry and we look forward with bated breath to see how they get on in the national finals.”
The village will find out how it has fared in Britain in Bloom’s national competition next week on Friday, October 14.
More in next Friday’s Herald.
