A beetle drive organised by a Sidmouth student has helped raise more than £630 towards the Meningitis Research Foundation.
Laura Clode (pictured) is now well on her way to reaching her £3,000 target for the charity, which she will be supporting by climbing Africa’s highest peak – Mount Kilimanjaro.
The event at All Saints Church Hall on Saturday evening (February 6) saw residents both young and old pack the venue ready to shake their die and make a beetle.
Laura, who came back from Loughborough University for the evening, rounded off the night by thanking everyone involved, including local businesses that donated raffle prizes, Wendy’s House for selling tickets, but especially her mum, Liz Clode, who laid on the event.
Laura’s next fundraiser is an Easter craft fair at Sidmouth Methodist Hall on Saturday, March 19, between 10am and 4pm.
