SIDMOUTH police are warning people about a bogus email that was received by a resident this week.
The email purports to be from BT and states that there have been problems processing bill payments, and money was owed.
After receiving it, the member of the public rang BT who confirmed this was incorrect.
A police spokesman said: "We advise once again not to give out any bank or personal details.
Police are also aware that home owners have also been receiving telephone calls again purporting to be from BT stating the same. These have also proved to be bogus.
