The coastguard helicopter was called out in the rescue of a 15-year-old from Beer beach after he was cut off by the tide yesterday evening (Sunday).
The boy was cold and wet, stuck about 10 feet above the water on rocks just east of Kings Isle.
Fire crews were first on the scene, at 6.20pm, donning dry suits to assist the coastguard.
The coastguard helicopter stood by as Lyme lifeboat tried to get in close enough.
The lifeboat crew brought the boy ashore uninjured and he was taken home by the police.
