These skilful lads from Sidmouth and Otterton made history when they won the West Country’s first ever futsal league.

The 11-year-olds, two of whom had never played the sport before, claimed victory in the game, which is sweeping the nation.

Sam Pyne, Josh Tyler, Ryan Griffiths, Harry Shipton, Jon Beer and Tyler Wood followed in the footsteps of footballing legends Kaka, Messi, Ronaldo and Fabregas, who all played futsal to develop their skills.

The game places an emphasis on technical skill in high pressure situations, which is why it has been touted as a way to develop skills for 11-a-side games.

The boys thanked Di Lee for managing the team, as well as Danny Harris and Scott Walker from Exeter City FITC for forming the league and making it all possible.
