Branscombe Primary School's Christmas Fair last Thursday was hailed as a success.

Santa visited the children to find out their Christmas wishes.

There was a raffle, tombola, children's games room and face painting.

Christmas tags, which could be decorated and hung on the school Christmas tree, were sold at the eco stall.

The idea of the eco tags was to write a goodwill message for everyone at the school instead of sending individual Christmas cards.

Branscombe village calendars, a project undertaken by classes two and three, were also on sale.

Children wrote to local businesses asking them to sponsor each page of the calendar. They then took photos of the businesses or sights of Branscombe.

The calendars were then professionally printed and can be purchased from the school for £4.50.

The money raised will top up the school community fund which is used at the request of children for example to sponsor a child in Ghana, buy flowers for local people who are poorly and give donations to charity.

The funds raised from the fair will be used by the PTFA to pay for a visit to the school by the theatre company, Theatre Alibi, who will be performing their production of Teapot.
