JUBILEE CHURCH SERVICE: Branscombe will be holding a village jubilee service on Trinity Sunday, from 11.15am.

BRANSCOMBE NEWSLETTER APPEAL: The church council who produce the Branscombe Parish Newsletter have appealed for a �5 per household voluntary donation to cover the �600 it costs to produce 11 editions per year. This can be left at 5 Mill Lane or at the post office. Cheques to be made to Branscombe PCC.

BRANSCOMBE MAY DAY: Branscombe Primary will be celebrating their belated May Day and parading their May King and Queen, on May 30 at the school. It is a joint event with Broadhembury School and all are welcome.

BRANSCOMBE PLAY AREA VANDALISM: An appeal has been made for information concerning some vandalism to the play area at the back of The Village Hall. The fence by the river recently suffered “significant” damage. Please contact Helen Fielden on 01297 680444 with any information.

APRIL JUMBLE SALE THANKS: Branscombe community groups have thanked those who helped them raise hundreds of pounds for community events, at the jumble sale last month. The Youth Group raised �150 for Branscombe’s firework night and The Village Hall and Parish Council raised �160 for jubilee celebrations.

BRANSCOMBE CHURCH YARD DISCOVERY PROJECT: A new collaboration has begun to map the depths of St Winifred’s graveyard and to reveal the secrets of old headstone inscriptions. Run by the Branscombe Project and archaeologists from Southhampton.

ROGUE CALLERS: Police have warned residents of Beer and Branscombe of men calling at homes in East Devon and falsely claiming to be from the water board in order to extract money from the vulnerable. If you have a call from these men please note their vehicle and their direction of travel and call the police on 101.

STURZSTROM WORLD PREMIERE AT BEER QUARRY CAVES: “Sturzstrom” by the abstract contemporary composer and visual artist, Marc Yeats, will be making its world premiere at the Beer quarry caves as part of the Coastal Voices choral collaboration inspired by the Jurassic Coast. The “landslide” event is on Friday, June 1 at 7pm.

BEER RELAXATION: Therapists will be demonstrating health and wellness techniques including hypnotherapy, pilates, Indian head massage, reflexology and aromatherapy at Beer Pecorama on Saturday 2 and Sunday, June 3.
