Staff and students at Branscombe Primary School have been recognised for their hard work after achieving ‘outstanding’ in its latest SIAMS inspection.

The Archdeacon of Exeter, the Venerable Christopher Futcher, presented pupils with an award following the inspection at the end of last year. The report praised the school for demonstrating outstanding leadership as a Christian community and staff and governors for ensuring Christian values underpinned the children’s’ school work.

Also in December, the school received a ‘good’ rating from Ofsted.

Executive headteacher Katie Gray said: “It is lovely to know that the ethos and values which the school community promotes on a daily basis have been recognised in this way. I would like to thank the staff team, parents, governors and our local community for all the hard work that goes into ensuring that the Christian values, particularly our core value of love, underpin all that we do in school.”
