There were huge cheers for The Branscombe Project’s latest exhibition which looked back at history of the village’s three pubs.
Members prepared displays on the past, present and future of The Mason Arms, the Fountain Head and the former Three Horseshoes public house.
The four day event attracted large crowds who could enjoy a pub lunch, take part in pub games and a quiz.
The event also showcased the work of Branscombe Brewery.
Barbara Farquharson, from the project, said it was one of the best exhibitions the group had ever had and hopes they may be able to produce a book on the village’s pubs.
She added: “Everyone has a link to a pub and they wanted to read or talk about them. We brought in the pub games and the children had something to do as well as the adults.”
The project then concluded its season of talks last Monday with a visit from Ted Sandling, who discussed mudlarking on the Thames.
The Branscombe Project will return with its winter talks in November.
