Members of the Branscombe Royal British Legion joined more than 2,200 standard bearers and wreath layers to pay tribute to fallen members of the armed forces.
A spectacular two-mile march, recreating the historic pilgrimage of 1928, took place through Ypres to the Commonwealth War Grave Commission’s Menin Gate Memorial, led by 1,100 standard bearers.
It was the culmination of the three-day event which saw thousands of participants visit the World War One trenches, battlefields and cemeteries of France and Belgium.
Michael and Jessica King attended the Great Pilgrimage as representatives of Branscombe.
Michael, the chairman of the Branscombe branch, said “Being part of such an historic event, representing Branscombe in commemorating those that lost their lives in the World War One, was an honour and something I’ll never forget.”
