AN attempted break-in at Ottery Football Club on Tuesday sparked a police helicopter manhunt.
Officers scoured the town by foot, road and air after a member of the public spotted suspicious behaviour at the Butts Road premises at around 2pm.
Police said nothing was stolen but wooden doors were damaged. It is believed the culprit was scared off by an alarm.
The police helicopter was scrambled when it was initially suspected an offender was still on-site.
No suspects were caught and officers have appealed to any residents who saw anyone fleeing the scene.
