Independent candidate Geoff Pook has been elected as district councillor for Beer and Branscombe
Mr Pook received 430 votes, beating Lib Dem Scott Ragbourn (135 votes) and John Tristram (270 votes).
There was a 55.4 per cent turnout in the ward.
