A 33-year-old man is being questioned over an alleged sexual assault in Sidmouth in the early hours of yesterday morning.
A spokesman from Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the man was arrested yesterday afternoon and remains in police custody.
The alleged attack on an 18-year-old female took place on the Esplanade by the beach around 1am on Sunday, October 21.
The spokesman said the investigation is still in its early stages.
