COUNTY Council election results for East Devon, one of the first districts in Devon to declare, are in.

Results are listed by electoral division, and show gains for the Conservatives at the expense of the Liberal Democrats.

Sidmouth Sidford: Conservative hold, Stuart Hughes, majority 2,428.

Ottery St Mary Rural; Independent hold, Roger Giles, majority 1,801.

Axminster: Conservative gain Andrew Moulding has ousted Lib Dem Councillor Douglas Hull with a majority of 350.

Seaton Coastal: Conservative gain, Jim Knight, taken Margaret Roger's seat with a majority of 135,

Broadclyst and Whimple: Conservative gain, Peter Bowden wins, ousting Derek Button with a majority of 166.

Budleigh: Conservative hold, Christine Channon retains with a majority of 1,608.

Exmouth Brixington and Withycombe: Lib Dem hold, Brenda Taylor retains with majority of 355,

Exmouth Halsdon and Woodbury: Conservative hold, Bernard Hughes retains with majority of 482.

Exmouth Littleham and Town: Lib Dem hold, Eileen Wragg, majority 10.

. Honiton St Michael's: Conservative hold, new councillor following de-selection, Sara Randall Johnson, majority 235.

Honiton St Paul's: Conservative hold, following de-selection, new councillor Paul Diviani, majority 887.
