COUNCIL house tenants can have a say on the service provided to them at a conference in Ottery St Mary later this month.

The East Devon District Council (EDDC) Tenants' Conference event, at The Tumbling Weir Hotel on June 17, will feature a speech from historian, broadcaster and author Professor Carl Chinn on 'The History of Social Housing'.

Representatives from the Sidmouth and Ottery area's EDDC Housing Service will be on hand to give tenants have the opportunity to discuss problems and concerns face-to-face.

John Golding, head of housing and social inclusion, and EDDC chief executive Mark Williams will also be on hand.

Organisers said they have been hard at work since October to ensure the event trumps last year's.

"Numbers are limited, so everyone is asked to book their places as soon as possible. Tenants are asked to let the Tenant Participation Team know if they need transport or have any special dietary requirements.

The Tenant Participation Team can be contacted on (01395) 517453, or by e-mailing tenantparticipation@eastdevon.gov.uk.
