DO you recognise this horseriding couple? If so, Phyllis Baxter at Ottery’s Tourist Information Centre would love to hear from you.
The photo appears on the March page of the 2011 Ottery calendar, available exclusively at the TIC. Other pages depict events including Pixie Day, tar barrels, Cadhay’s May fair, Beautiful Days and the carnival. There are also scenic shots of the parish church and river. Phyllis, who took all the photos, said: “This couple were in the right place at the right time, but we haven’t a clue who they are.”
There is a framed print of the picture waiting for them, should they come forward. The calendar, which has been published for the past five years, ends up in places as far away as America, Australia and New Zealand.
“It makes a great Christmas present, and advertises Ottery well,” said Phyllis. Priced 5, all proceeds go to the TIC. And as a fundraiser for the town’s Christmas lights, Marjorie Rix, who makes the cakes for nearby tourist attraction Cadhay, has donated a Christmas cake as a draw prize. Tickets are 1, from the TIC.
