THIS was the shocking scene in Sidmouth last week after a car suffered an electrical fault causing it to overturn.
The local male driver, aged in his 70s, managed to escape through the window of the red Fiat and suffered only minor injuries.
He was taken to Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.
The crash happened in Alexandria Road last Friday at about 2.30pm.
It is believed the car mounted the pavement and hit the wall of a house gateway before landing on its roof.
Firefighters and police managed to turn the car back on its wheels before it was recovered. The road was blocked for a short while and the car was recovered at 4pm.
