Early morning shock for owner
A CAR was destroyed and a hedgerow badly damaged when the vehicle was engulfed in flames in the early hours of this morning (Friday, September 23).
Firefighters and police raced to Manor Road at around 4am as the small three-door Peugeot hatchback burned out of control.
“On the crew’s arrival the car was well alight along with six metres of hedgerow. They used two breathing apparatus and two hosereel jets to extinguish flames. The car and hedgerow were severely damaged by the fire,” said a fire service spokesperson.
The Herald understands the incident is being treated as arson.
