Sustainable Ottery hosted a community event to teach locals about saving energy and lowering fuel bills.
Jill Dixon, the organiser of ‘Save energy, save money, live better’ last week at The King’s School, said: “The evening was full of useful tips and excellent advice on how to reduce our energy consumption and bills in the home and when travelling, and was appreciated by everyone who came.”
Derrick Ryall, Head of Climate Change Research at the Met Office, spoke about the environmental benefits of being smarter with energy use along with spokesmen from Energy Action Devon, Co-Cars and Devon County Council Travelwise about the economic benefit for residents of reducing their carbon footprint.
