THE snow and ice didn’t prevent people gathering for Carols Around the Tree in Ottery on Monday evening.
Around 60 residents gathered around the tree, provided by Otter Valley Rotary Club, which stood outside NatWest in Silver Street. The event was organised by the Pixie Day committee, and supported by Otter Nurseries and the carnival committee. Mince pies, made by Millstone Bakery, and mulled fruit punch were served after the singing. Organiser Richard Coley, who made the punch, said: “People enjoyed the pies and punch, we’ll definitely do that again next year.”
