AN AMAZING £2,400 was raised for Sidmouth Hospiscare on Saturday at a Midsummer's Garden Party held in Sidbury. Amid a week of depressing, drizzly weather, the sun shone brightly on the garden of White Lodge, Sidbury, for the event. Friends erected gazebos, while others produced plates of tasty canapes and wine. Host Duncan Bengough said: "At the peak there must have been some 130 visitors admiring the garden. With some extremely generous donations the final sum raised was some £2,400, which has been passed to Sidmouth Hospiscare.
