SIDMOUTH’S St John Ambulance division got a cash boost on Wednesday that will net the charity new medical equipment.

Divisional superintendent, Brian Johansen, received a cheque for 1,005 to buy ten pulse oximeters.

Betty Northam, secretary of the Sidmouth St John Ambulance Fellowship, handed over the money.

“We hope it will help you continue your excellent work,” she said.

Sidmouth Conservative Club also raised 300 for the purchase of a further two pulse oximeters.

The device indirectly monitors the oxygen saturation of a patient’s blood.
