0K KITTY: Sidmouth could be set to benefit from an £80,000 cash kitty after civic leaders agreed to team up with other places.

Town councillors were asked if they would be prepared to work with resorts like Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Seaton in pooling the Parishes Together Fund money.

They were unanimously in favour of the move.

CARE COUP: Care services for people approaching the end of their lives in Devon are top in the country, according to a national survey of the bereaved by the Office of National Statistics.

NHS Devon scored in the top 20 per cent of nine of 11 key areas, placing them as the top performing area in the UK.

Aspects of the survey included levels of dignity and respect shown by doctors and nurses, patient involvement in decision making about where and how they would die and support given to carers while patients were at home.
