Cash stolen in Sidmouth burglary

Residents warned to lock up

BURGLARS smashed a window before entering a Sidmouth home and making off with a cash haul yesterday (Sunday, October 16).

Police have appealed for information following a break-in at a property in Redwood Road between 6.15pm and 9.45pm.

Residents in the area have been urged to remain vigilant and have been told to keep doors and windows locked.

“Although jewellery boxes were searched, it appears that only a quantity of cash was stolen,” said PC Carly Davies of Hontion CID.

She added: “The premises was entered by offenders smashing a rear window, which was unlocked, allowing it to be opened from the outside.”

Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area, or who as any information about the incident, has been asked to contact Honiton CID by dialling 101, crime reference: KS/11/591.
