ABBEYFIELD Court got a �415 cash boost last Friday as more than 200 people flocked to an open day at the house.
Visitors enjoyed displays of its activities stalls and afternoon cream teas as well as a 'best dressed hat competition'.
Chair of the House Committee Alan Darrant was delighted with the money raised praised the efforts of residents and staff in organising the event. He said: "At the end one couple gave me a �10 note so I went out the next day and bought everbody some strawberries for their lunch as a thank-you."
