Sidmouth Town Band’s efforts to raise £350,000 for its new band room received a £1,500 boost from the town’s Chamber of Commerce.
Derek Parry, president of the chamber, said he was delighted to present a cheque made up of the profits from the organisation’s successful street party to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.
He said: “They [the town band] have supported us in our activities and we appreciate that support.
“In return, it was decided to help them.
“They do a lot of good around the town and we were happy to do it.”
