Sidmouth College has received a ‘champion school’ award from the National Citizen Service.
Pupils successfully completed the government-backed programme aimed at developing their life skills.
Students learnt about independent living and teamwork before carrying out a project within their local community. Principal James Ingham Hill said: “By pushing themselves outside of their comfort zones, meeting people not in their immediate peer group and challenging themselves with new activities, young people can return with a huge boost to their confidence, resilience and maturity levels.”
