THE second of Pecorama’s 2010 art weeks – Photography and Ceramics - features a snapshot of the changing tides at Seaton seafront.

Professional photographer Jolly Sargent, from Musbury, has been taking photos of the sea at 8.30am nearly every day since January. His aim is to create a year-long catalogue of images.

Four panels are on show in the Station Gallery at the tourist attraction in Beer until Saturday, October 2. Each represents two months and contains up to 25 of the photos of the 50 he took during those times.

Jolly, who works freelance for Pecorama, creating images for its brochures and publicity campaigns, got the idea while cycling.

He said: “I cycle everywhere, and cycle along the seafront most mornings. I thought all last summer I’d like to take pictures, and started at the beginning of the year.”

The third and final art week begins on Monday, October 11, and focuses on paintings and applied arts.

It will include pieces by a range of South West artists including Andrea Rowbotham, whose current work explores the visual paradox of landscape and body, Anthea Stilwell, Jill Hutchings and John Perkins.

The gallery is open Monday to Friday 10am- 5.30pm and Saturday 10am - 12.30pm. Entry is free to the exhibition and the Pecorama gardens.
