Ottery St Mary Fire Station and the King School have teamed up to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity and the Goodwill Children’s Home in India.

Firefighters from Ottery St Mary Fire Station are teaming up with the Kings School this weekend to raise money for charity.

Sixth formers from the school will be helping out at a charity car wash this Saturday (April 23) from 10am to 2pm.

Residents can bring their cars along to the fire station in Canaan Way for a small donation. Proceeds from the day will go to the Fire Fighters Charity and the Goodwill Children’s Home in India.

Chief Fire Officer Lee Howell said: “Monies raised through national fundraising initiatives provide a real boost to the Fire Fighters Charity. As well as being a fun and popular event for the charity, car washes also give our firefighters the opportunity to share important safety messages with members of their local community.

“Your valued donations will go towards helping thousands of men, women and children from the fire and rescue community during their times of need.”

Visitors will also be able to enjoy musical entertainment from Professor Bass.
