A teacher is leading a sponsored walk from Newton Poppleford to thank a charity for its support after he suffered a heart attack.
Charles Palmer was having chest pains and after being admitted to hospital to have a stent implanted he was fitted with a pacemaker.
A volunteer from the Red Cross visited his Exeter home for eight weeks, helping him with shopping, built up his confidence getting around and soon got him back on his feet.
Charles, who teaches outdoor skills like map reading and dowsing, wants to highlight the charity’s efforts and raise some cash, so plans to lead a five-mile walk for at least 15 people
It will begin in Newton Poppleford at 10.30am on Wednesday, May 10, and take in the nearby villages.
Anyone interested in taking part should call him on 01392 426692.
