IN A moment of spontaneity, the daughter of Sidmouth's Methodist minister helped carry the Walk of Witness cross on Good Friday.Charlotte Hadfield, seven, daughter of the Reverend Brian Hadfield, went up to cross bearer John Defoe as the group gathered on The Esplanade and asked to help."She felt it was something she wanted to do," said Rev Hadfield, who later conducted the Churches Together in Sidmouth service, organised by Mike Edgecumbe.About 100 joined in the walk through the town, stopping on the way for hymns and prayers, the latter led by four of the town's clergy - the Reverends David Brown, Roger Trumper, Brian Hadfield and Prebendary David James.Joan Edgecumbe said: "The service was a joint CTIS one, with a choir and guest preacher, the Reverend Trevor Beardsall."The church was packed and all the churches in the valley were represented.
