CHILDREN’S Hospice South West will benefit from a year-long fundraising bid by staff at a Sidmouth business.

Fields bosses hope a campaign for their ‘Charity of The Year 2011’ will bring the best out of generous customers and boost terminally ill youngsters and their families- including some who live in the Sidmouth area.

The store last year raised more than 2,000 for the Ellie’s Haven charity and supported Devon Air Ambulance in 2009.

Staff are now looking forward to more fundraising exploits and collection tins will be placed at tills in the shop.

Children’s Hospice South West provides expert care for young people, who will never reach adulthood, and support for parents and siblings. The charity’s corporate fundraiser, David Butt, said: “Unfortunately we have many families, from the Sidmouth area and throughout Devon, who need our support – and the need is growing.

“I’m delighted to be working with such a well respected and caring company.”

“The staff and public have been incredible over the years, supporting our various fundraising initiatives,” said Fields promotions manager Claire Jenkins.

“Their generosity, in time and money, never ceases to amaze us.

“We are looking forward to raising as much money as we can this year as well as having fun and spreading the word about Children’s Hospice South West.”
