A CHILDREN'S fun run will take place at Powderham Castle this weekend to raise money for charity.

The half-mile St George and the Dragon Fun Run will be held on Sunday at 10am, followed by a relay marathon at 10.30am, where teams of four will run 10km each through the castle grounds to complete the 26-mile challenge.

All proceeds from the relay marathon will go to the British Red Cross.

There will be entertainment for spectators including juggling and face painting, and there will also be refreshments including a hog roast.

Entry for the fun run is free and runners can enter on the day.

Fun runners should arrive at the castle at 9.30am and follow signs to the British Red Cross Relay Marathon.

Organisers hope to raise £10,000 which will support services across Devon in areas such as fire emergency support, refugee services and first aid.
