A CHILDREN'S centre for Ottery edged closer to becoming a reality last week after millions of pounds were pledged to improve local services.
Devon County Council (DCC) has set aside �4.5 million in a bid to provide 43 centres- service hubs where children under five years old and their families can receive seamless, integrated services and information- across Devon.
A DCC spokesman said any potential Ottery location has not been considered yet as plans are "very much at an early stage" and "nothing is set in concrete".
The Herald understands the council has long been interested in a premises in the grounds of The Old Convent.
