Pledge to meet funding deficit means full festive display will go ahead
An Ottery councillor has stepped in to save Christmas with a contribution to ensure the town will have its full festive lights display.
The chamber of commerce launched an appeal last week for help in covering a shortfall in funding or warned the annual spectacle would have to be ‘dramatically reduced’. The issue was raised at an Ottery Town Council meeting on Monday and county councillor Claire Wright pledged £1,000 from her locality budget.
