Praise on the Prom

Congregations from All Saints Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church will hold another Praise on the Prom on Sunday at 5pm.

The rain stopped in time for last Sunday’s event, allowing the sun to make an appearance while more than 60 members of the two churches met at the Bedford Steps, opposite the Bedford Hotel, for hymn singing and a Bible message.

Oliver Ward, the minister of Emmanuel Baptist, led the meeting. Peter Fung played guitar and church members, from ages four to over 90, sang a number of hymns, including Great is thy Faithfulness, Faithful One and Amazing Grace.

Passers-by also joined in using a special song booklet. David Caporn, vicar at All Saints, spoke about life’s questions and listeners were offered a copy of David Blanchard’s book Ultimate Questions about the Christian faith.

Weather permitting, there will be further services on August 26 and September 2.
