Another classic Cinerama film is being staged in Sidmouth next Saturday (February 25) to raise money for two good causes.
Mike Edgecumbe is erecting his giant, curved omniscope screen and stereophonic sound equipment in the Methodist Hall for two screenings of Search for Paradise.
Produced by Lowell Thomas and directed by Otto Lang, the 1957 American film tells the story of a veteran officer who wants ‘out’ and searches for Shangri-la but finds that the US Air Force is what he has been looking for.
Admission is free but donations are being taken in aid of the Norah Harbour Bursary Fund, which is supporting Project Return, and the Paul Lock Memorial Fund, supporting paediatric care across the South West.
The film will be screened at 2.30pm and again at 7.30pm.
