A TV crew has boosted membership to East Devon Grecians and Sidmouth War Memorial Club after featuring both in a late night football programme on Tuesday.West Country Soccer Night sent a crew of 10 to Sidmouth on Monday evening to film interesting facts from members of the Exeter City supporters' group, interviews with strikers Richard Logan and Steve Basham and the chairman of Exeter City, Denise Watts.Grecians' chairman Gareth Hughes, whose son David was among those to get "five seconds of fame", said of the filming: "It was a brilliant night and a really good programme which portrayed East Devon Grecians really well."The War Memorial Club produced a fantastic meal for the crew and VIPs and they said it was the best meal they had ever had on location."It was interesting to see how they filmed the programme. They started at the end and seemed to work back. I was pretty impressed and we had 10 new members join, bringing our numbers to 141 since we started in November 2005."Ian Thomas, steward at the War Memorial Club, prepared the hot buffet with Jean Ryan, while John Leask, Ray Salter and Sue Farndon served behind the bar.Ian said: "It was a full house and there was a fantastic atmosphere. We got six new members for the club and it was a very successful evening."On Tuesday we screened the programme and a lot came in to see it."Richard Tuson was 'anorak of the week', scoring five points.
