Classical Sidmouth concert to boost charity

PUBLISHED: 17:38 07 February 2012

A SPECIAL one-off classical concert by the ISCA Ensemble orchestra will be staged at Sidmouth Parish Church on Saturday, February 18, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event, from 7.30pm, will be staged to celebrate 100 years of the charity.

“I think it will be rather special as it is a candlelit concert and believe this is the first time they have performed some of the pieces,” said Joyce Burnham, chairman of Macmillan Cancer Support in Sidmouth. Musical director Roger Hendy will conduct the concert.

A retiring collection will go to Macmillan in Sidmouth. Work by Nicolai, Schubert and Beethoven will be performed.

Tickets (£10 or £5 for students) are available from Paragon Books on 01395 514516.
