SIDMOUTH Living with Cancer and cancer charity Force have received cash boosts from Sidmouth Running Club.
The charities received cheques for �150 and �550 respectively on Monday, the proceeds from Sidmouth Festival Run. Club members Bill Valentine and John Perratt, who organised the run, watched as fellow runner Richard Hedger, of event sponsors Michelmores, gave the cheques to Living with Cancer’s Bill and Evelyn Lankester and John Mullins from Force.
The run, on Sunday, August 8, attracted the largest field in its nine years - 204 entrants. Force has been involved from the beginning. Mr Valentine said the presentation was a fitting tribute to David Keast, who recently died of cancer. “David was one of the helpers at the original race,” he said.
Mr Lankester said: “Our thanks go to all who took part in the run and to Bill and John.”
