THE FUTURE of Sid Vale Athletics family fun day is dependent on this year's event being a success.

With last summer's being a washout, two coffee mornings will be held to raise the hundreds of pounds lost by its cancellation.

"We are desperate for funds," said committee secretary Marion Perry. "We need to replace what was lost last year, about £627. If we have another wet one and have not topped up our loss, it will be finished."

The first coffee morning will be held at Sidford Social Hall on Saturday, February 14 at 10am and offers of cakes, prizes and help are welcome on (01395) 514244.
