SIDMOUTH’S queen of the coffee mornings has scored another success.
Betty Easey, of Broadway, raised 2,270 for the Pakistan Flood Appeal at a coffee morning at the Methodist Church in High Street on Saturday.
“It was a busy morning, with big crowds and everyone was willing to give generously,” said Betty, 86. “There were lots of helpers and stalls and we sold plenty of coffee. People are so kind to help at such events that I want to say thank you.”
Betty has previously raised funds for disaster relief in Haiti and for those affected by the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami. She received the Citizen of the Year award in 2002 for her charity work and attended a Christmas party at Buckingham Palace.
